Aruba keeps the border with Venezuela closed for another four months
This is an old post.
ORANJESTAD - Since 2019, the Venezuelan authority has unilaterally closed the border with Aruba.
The authorities of Aruba regularly evaluate the situation and assess whether it is appropriate to open the border between Aruba and the neighboring country. Hence, in May 2023, it opened the maritime border based on solid agreements between the authorities of both countries.
On Monday, April 22, 2024, the government of Aruba signed a decree to extend the closure of the air border for four months, and during that time, a decision will be made on when the border with Venezuela will fully open.
