Aruba and PAHO/WHO sign Cooperation Strategy 2025–2030.

ORANJESTAD—The Government of Aruba, represented by Minister of Public Health, Social Affairs, Elderly Care, and Addiction Management, drs. Melvin Wyatt-Ras, and the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), represented by Dr. Jarbas Barbosa da Silva Jr., director of PAHO, officially signed the Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS) 2025–2030.

This document establishes a historic cooperation agreement to strengthen Aruba's health system and improve the well-being of all island residents.

The strategy was developed in close collaboration with the Department of Public Health (DVG), the health care sector, and various social and international partners.

The CCS focuses on three strategic priorities:

  • The health system is strengthened to expand universal health coverage and adaptability.
  • Prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, with emphasis on mental health and ongoing care.
  • Promotion of multisectoral collaboration to address social and environmental determinants of health, including climate change impacts.

The signing of the Cooperation Strategy 2025-2030 marks an important step towards a sustainable, dignified, accessible, and humane health future for Aruba.
