Aruba and Colombia want to strengthen trade, logistics, and agricultural development ties.
ORANJESTAD - On August 4, 2025, the Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs, and Primary Sector held a meeting with Mrs. Carolina Olarte Bácares, Ambassador of Colombia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands; Mrs. Patricia Cortes, European Director of the Embassy of Colombia; Mr. Gustavo Serrano Amaya, Consul of Colombia; and Captain of the ARC Gloria, Mr. Luis Fernando Lara Coqollo.
The meeting is part of the Government of Aruba's effort to deepen the existing relationship and formalize structural cooperation with Colombia on strategic issues, including trade, maritime logistics, and primary sector development.
Minister Wever indicated that Aruba's permanent presence through Holland House in Bogotá and the growing interest of Aruban companies to do business with Colombia reflect a desire to expand Aruba's trade ties with the neighboring country. The successful trade missions in 2023 were just the beginning.
