Aruba Airport Authority's 2024 annual accounts approved.
ORANJESTAD— During an official meeting on May 16, 2025, the sole shareholder/owner, the Board of Commissioners, management, and the accountant who audited the figures for 2024 for the Aruba Airport Authority reviewed the annual accounts of last year during a General Meeting of Shareholders.
2024 is considered the best year in the entire history of our airport, both in terms of aircraft movement and number of passengers, and for revenue and profit of the state company.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, mr. Wendrick Cicilia, on behalf of the Government of Aruba, being the owner of 100% of Aruba Airport Authority, approved the annual accounts, "Focusing Forward."
At the end of the meeting, three of the four members of the Board of Commissioners, appointed by the outgoing cabinet, resigned, which the shareholder accepted. This week, three new members will be appointed to the Board of Commissioners, who will continue to supervise the management of AUA Airport.
Minister Cicilia thanked the outgoing Board of Commissioners and the management team of AUA Airport. It cannot be overlooked that when the CEO appointed by Royal Schiphol Group retired, the team of Arubans took over the company and shared the responsibilities of the CEO function alongside their other functions. AUA Airport has demonstrated resilience at all times and has even overcome in a great way.
The minister indicated that Aruba can be proud of its airport. The government believes in a close cooperation agreement with Royal Schiphol Group. With their experience and knowledge alongside that of our locals, they can take the company to the next level of growth.
