April is Alcohol Use and Abuse Awareness Month!
This is an old post.
ORANJESTAD - The Department of Public Health wants to raise awareness that April is the Month of Awareness about alcohol use and abuse.
Let's talk about the risks to your health with excessive alcohol consumption.
It's more than just a hangover!
In the long run, unmoderated alcohol consumption can result in serious problems, such as:
- Liver damage.
- Heart problems.
- Risk of developing cancer.
If you or someone you know has a problem with alcohol, there are resources and support available. You can seek help from health professionals, support groups, and organizations dedicated to the prevention and treatment of alcoholism.
Department of Public Health recommendation:
- Limit your alcohol consumption! DVG recommends a maximum of 1 glass per day, but NOT every day;
- Put your health first!
- Don't drink at all, but if you're going to drink, drink in moderation: THINK BEFORE DRINKING MORE!
