Agroalimentaria 2025 in the Dominican Republic

ORANJESTAD – The outgoing Minister of Economic Affairs, Communication, and Sustainable Development, Geoffrey Wever, and Mr. Moises Sanchez Manzueta, Vice-Consul of the Dominican Republic, recently invited local businesses to participate in a trade mission to the Dominican Republic.

The Junta Agroempresarial Dominicana (JAD), ProDominicana, and the Dominican Republic Consulate General in Aruba are partners in this trade mission.

The mission is part of the international Agroalimentaria 2025 fair from May 28 to May 31, 2025. Agroalimentaria 2025 is the Dominican Republic’s largest platform for the agri-food sector, beverages, and tobacco, attracting more than 250 Dominican exporters. During the fair, they will showcase various products, including vegetables, fruits, spices, pasta, coffee, cocoa, tobacco, beer, Dominican rum, and much more.

Why is the fair important for Aruba?

The global economic situation is constantly changing, with rising import tariffs in the U.S. and other key countries. Aruba must continue to diversify its economic ties and explore new import and investment opportunities. Agroalimentaria 2025 provides an excellent opportunity for Aruban entrepreneurs to connect with Dominican businesses, expand their commercial network, and explore new collaborations.

The fair will offer, among other things:

  • Opportunities for traders to explore new collaborations and import possibilities through meetings and negotiation rounds with Dominican exporters;
  • A variety of conferences and presentations on the agri-food sector;
  • The chance to experience and learn about Dominican products directly from their source.

Information Session on March 13, 2025

The Department of Economic Affairs will host an information session on March 13, 2025, at 6:30 PM at their office for all interested businesses and individuals. They will provide more details about the fair, the trade mission, and how to participate during the presentation.

Participation in the information session is free, and to register, scan the QR code (available on social media) or email s.meijer@deaci.aw.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs invites all Aruban entrepreneurs to take part in this opportunity to strengthen trade and expand economic growth in Aruba.
