Acting Governor receives UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) representative in Panama

ORANJESTAD – On Tuesday morning, July 29th, the Acting Governor of Aruba, H.E. Agustin Vrolijk, received Mr. José Egas, the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) representative in Panama, for an audience at the Governor's Office.

Mr. Egas was accompanied by Ms. Irene van Rij, Head of National Office, and Ms. Marre ten Holder, Programme Associate.

During the audience, discussions focused on how geopolitical developments influence the refugee crisis in the region and on Aruba. In addition, views were exchanged on the role and significance of the UNHCR in this regard.
