ABO Foundation Continues to Contribute to Aruba’s Common Good Through Prevention and Training

ORANJESTAD – As part of this week’s Common Good Conference, several local foundations and organizations are sharing how they have been putting the concept of the common good into practice on Aruba for many years.

One of these organizations is the Aruba Population Screening Foundation (ABO Foundation), which focuses on prevention and awareness of various types of cancer.

According to the foundation’s director, Nanine Ponson, ABO contributes to the common good through a range of programs. The foundation’s work centers on education, early detection, and community support, with the goal of improving quality of life and public health.

“Our contribution to the common good is delivered through training and screening programs for breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and cervical cancer,” the director of the ABO Foundation stated during an interview.

The foundation places strong emphasis on strengthening community bonds and fostering collaboration, firmly believing in building collective well-being on Aruba. Within the context of the Common Good Conference, the central message is that prevention and health are not solely individual responsibilities, but shared efforts that benefit society as a whole.

The ABO Foundation also hopes that initiatives such as the conference will create opportunities to develop new ideas and increase visibility, enabling the organization to promote its services more widely across Aruba and reach more people with its prevention message.

The participation of the ABO Foundation demonstrates how local organizations actively put the principle of the common good into practice every day, contributing in tangible ways to the welfare, resilience, and future of the Aruban community.
