AAA releases 2024 Annual Report: Focusing Forward, Strengthening Our Foundations

ORANJESTAD—Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) announces the release of its Annual Report 2024, showcasing the organization's continued progress towards operational excellence, sustainability, and its role as a vital contributor to Aruba's economy and community.

In 2024, AAA reaffirmed its vision of becoming a leading airport in the Caribbean, committed to delivering exceptional service and fostering sustainable growth for Aruba.
The annual report maintains the improved format introduced in 2023, offering a more efficient and transparent report of our achievements and strategic direction. This approach emphasizes AAA's commitment to accountability, transparency, and stakeholder trust.

Some of the highlights of 2024, the busiest year yet in the airport’s history, were:

  • More than 3.2 million passengers traveled to and from Aruba Airport, representing a 14% increase year over year and further solidifying our position as a key regional gateway.
  • Aruba Airport served 25 airlines and more than 45 direct routes, including new destinations and new airline partners, expanding Aruba's global connection.
  • Passenger satisfaction remained high, with experience scores reaching 4.11 and 3.98, respectively (on a 5-point scale), demonstrating our consistent focus on quality and service.
  • Key challenges in 2024 included preparing the DCAA recertification audit under the new AUA-AGA aviation law and addressing the results of the 2023 audit through various Corrective Action Plans. An HVAC system failure in August also led to the airport being closed for a day, prompting the development of robust business continuity and maintenance plans to prevent future disruption.
  • Throughout 2024, AAA teams worked diligently in close collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO) and several subcontractors of the Gateway 2030 project to ensure the successful completion of Phase 1A. Their collective efforts have positioned the project to become fully operational in 2025.
  • AAA has maintained Green Globe Certification and has managed to maintain level 3 accreditation in the ACI Airport Carbon Accreditation program, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable airport operations.
  • In our second full year of internal General Aviation (FBO) operations, we have achieved operational and service achievements that have set a new benchmark for private aviation service at Aruba Airport.
  • With the Annual Report, AAA published the 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which delves into our sustainability initiatives, community engagement, and ethical business practices.
