A Book for All Children
ORANJESTAD – Biblioteca Nacional Aruba is proud to present the children’s book Aza and the Magic Doors, written by Liliana Erasmus and illustrated by Danielle Schothorst.
It's a fun book full of adventure. Aza and the Magic Doors" is written in Papiamento and Dutch.
“For Aza, reading is no fun. She always has to behave nicely in the library. Picture books are still fine, but books with lots of text... brrr. Today Aza is playing hide and seek with her friends. Right in the library! She hides in the Story Tower. But then she notices that her friends are gone. Luckily, she finds a book she knows: ‘Barba Brabo and the Magic Doors!’ When Aza tries to close the book, it comes to life.”
Levendig Uitgever is the publisher of the book Aza and the Magic Doors, which is a play that is a part of the 2024 Children's Book Festival. Schools that take part will be given the book as a gift. Biblioteca Nacional Aruba organizes the Children's Book Festival to encourage all children in Aruba to read. The library invites all children in Aruba to become members and read even more books. Membership for children and youth is free to encourage reading.

Liliana Erasmus has a great passion for writing. She is, among other things, a children's book author, storyteller, and very creative. The library has all of Liliana’s books for its young readers. Liliana promotes reading among children. Danielle Schothorst studied visual arts and wrote and illustrated children's books. Danielle will come to Aruba for the Children's Book Festival to present the new book with Liliana.
