ORANJESTAD - The Governor of Aruba, His Excellency Alfonso Boekhoudt, together with his spouse, attended the protocolary Koningsdag ceremony on Saturday, April 27, 2024. 

On this occasion, Governor Boekhoudt was received at Wilhelminapark by the Minister of Finance and Culture, Ms. Xiomara Maduro.

After the inspection of the armed guard, the flag of the Kingdom and the Aruban flag were raised during a brief ceremony, followed by the playing of the national anthems of the Netherlands and Aruba. The President of the States of Aruba, Mr. Edgard G.A. Vrolijk delivered a speech on the occasion of King's Day. 

The ceremony continued with some dance performances and then the presentation of the Copa B. Felipe Tromp. The various winners received their trophies and incentive awards from the hands of the Governor of Aruba. This year's honorees were soccer player Ethan Geerman (Copa Pre-Hubenil) and swimmer Braynsly Dirksz (Copa Hubenil), while the incentive awards went to Kailen Wouters (Pre-Hubenil) and Dalton Conijn (Hubenil).

After the ceremony, a parade of various uniformed groups took place.
